Baku / 16.04.19 / Turan: The European Union Representation in Azerbaijan from May 1 to 15 will organize the third festival of tolerance, Imagine.
The executive director of the United Culture Center, Paola Cosagrande, said 18 partner countries will take part in the festival.
"Within the framework of the festival nine special foreign guests will arrive in Azerbaijan. Three concerts, a photo exhibition, 5 workshops and debates will be held, and 30 films and much more will be shown," she said.
Introducing the special guests, Denis Daniilidis, First Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan, said the festival"s difference this year is that events will be held not only in Baku, but also in Ganja.
"As part of the festival, a photo exhibition of French photographer Nicolas Landmard, currently living and working in Brussels, will be organized in Baku and Ganja. There will be three themes at the photo exhibition, one of which will be European politicians. N. Landmard takes photos of official EU events and therefore he has a large archive of photos of politicians. He will present their different emotions at the exhibition," he said.
The second theme of the photos at the exhibition will be the European quarter in Brussels, where official EU buildings are located.
The third theme will be the Lyon Theater. This theater is unique for the fact that the company is made up of groups of refugees who live in this city. Nicolas Landmard will present the photos that he made in this theater.
Another festival guest will be the Chilean saxophonist Marcelo Moncada, who currently lives in Brussels.
"During the festival, Marcelo Moncada will give three concerts in Baku, one of which will be organized inside the Icheri Sheher Metro Station. The concert in the metro will be on May 1," Daniilidis said.
Speaking at the press conference, the head of the Department for International Projects and Innovations of the Ministry of Culture, Ramil Abbakirov, said the Ministry always welcomes events of this format and expresses satisfaction with being a partner of such an event.
"It so happened that this year, during the festival, the fifth forum of intercultural dialogue will be held in Baku. We will recommend our foreign guests to take part in various events of the festival of tolerance. To this end, we will include the program of the festival Imagine in the recommendations folder for participants", he said. -71D-
