A company that advertises goods of "P & G" is fined in Azerbaijan
The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Economy and Industry adopted a second in 2012 decision on fines against the company responsible for the distribution of advertising products of the company "Procter & Gamble". The size of the fine amounted to an unprecedented figure for Azerbaijan – 2,163,000 manats. (approximately $ 2, 7 million.)
The message from the department reads that the signs of "unfair and inaccurate" advertisements that mislead consumers, have been identified in the advertisement text of the toothbrush "Oral-BPro-flex", toothpaste "Blend-a-medPro-expert", the battery "Duracell "detergent" Ariel ".
Penalties have been applied in respect of the customer's advertising - "Procter & Gamble Azərbaycan Servisləri", registered in Azerbaijan in 2006.
In 2012, a similar penalty in the amount of 1,784,500 manats was imposed on the company "Engin Ltd", distributor of "P & G" in Azerbaijan.
Representative office of the P&G has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1998, and offers consumers more than 30 brands.
Over the past few months staff Antimonopoly Service has repeatedly applied severe sanctions against those companies, that they believe, violate advertising laws. In particular, many companies use in advertising texts phrases that give the impression of their superiority over other similar products. As in previous times, the fined party keeps silence. --08D--
