Imports of Cars Fell to Historic Lows
In the crisis in 2016 in Azerbaijan 5746 units of vehicles were delivered, which is 4.6 times less than in 2015.
The statistical analysis shows that car imports fell to historic lows in the past 15 years.
In 2016 was purchased abroad were 4,991 new and formerly used cars, which is 18,774 less than the previous year. Imports of buses and minibuses (96) decreased by 8.5 times, trucks (571) - 3.4 times, and machinery (88) - 2.7 times.
According to the State Customs Committee, 63,368 vehicles were imported in 2014, 104,385 in 2013, and 101,255 in 2012.
According to independent experts, the decline in imports of vehicles is due to internal objective reasons: economic decline, reduced incomes, savings on luxury goods, including expensive cars, etc. ----08D
