Parliament continues discussion of the draft budget
On Wednesday the Milli Mejlis continued the discussion of the draft budget for 2015. Vice Speaker Valeh Aleskerov assured MPs that 90 dollars per barrel noted in the draft budget is an objective price; noting fluctuations on the world market, Alesgerov assured that the country's budget will sustain a price of $70. "Azerbaijan's budget will stand, even if oil price falls to $70, our reserves allow it," said Aleskerov. Further, he hinted the need to invest in science, construction of small hydropower plants (HPP.). "Azerbaijan has become an exporter of electricity and the need to continue creating HPP, in particular, on Samur. HES help the country to save one percent of crude oil, which means 50,000 – 60,000 tons of fuel," he said.
MP from the Guba region Yevda Abramov called on the government to increase funding for the armed forces of Azerbaijan and NGOs, "to counter enemy propaganda outside." He further called for the implementation of the project roads Shamakha-Guba, which will link the northern and central region, and will have strategic importance, will quickly redeploy forces to the northern border. Abrams noted it is important to include funding of this work in the proper state program.
Then the deputy complained of the delay in the construction of the International Airport in Guba.
