Macron Asks Aliyev to Support Efforts to Combat Infectious Diseases
Baku / 11.10.19 / Turan: French President Emmanuel Macron phoned the head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, asking him to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
The official statement said that Aliyev supported the initiative of the French President to create a special fund and expressed his readiness to contribute to the fight against these diseases. Macron expressed gratitude to Aliyev.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on the development of bilateral relations and future contacts between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and France.
Meanwhile, participants in the conference in Lyon agreed to attract more than $ 14 billion to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the next three years. A number of countries, companies and private philanthropists have agreed to significantly increase their contributions. ----06D--
