Nagorno-Karabakh’s final status will be determined in the context of a comprehensive settlement
In connection with the initiative of the two Armenian deputies on the need by Armenia's recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh, Moscow, represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed a negative attitude to this idea. Turan agency appealed to the US Embassy in Baku with the request to express Washington's attitude to this issue. The response sent by the Embassy to Turan, said:
"No country recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh. Nagorno-Karabakh’s final status will be determined in the context of a comprehensive settlement, which would include the return of the occupied territories to Azerbaijan’s control. We continue to urge the sides to come to the negotiating table in good faith in order to reach a lasting settlement.”
Sergei Lavrov said approximately the same. However, the official Paris, which is the third co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has not yet expressed its attitude on this issue. -02В-
