Police Sergeant: opposition journalists must be eliminated
Reporter of the on-line TV "Azadlig TV" ("Azadliqnews.tv") Dayanat Mamedov, detained today was released after 40 minutes. The reason for his detention was video shooting of the crowd at the entrance to the metro station "Azadlig prospecti". The crowd occurred due to a malfunction of turnstiles for travel.
A sergeant who detained the journalists, took him to the police station in the subway, and took away the journalist's mobile phone, laptop and camera. After that the police deleted records in memory of the computer, searched the bag and asked Mammadov's place of work.
Learning that Mammadov is an employee of "Azadlig TV", a police officer said, "opposition journalists are like a virus, and must be destroyed." Forty minutes passed after the leadership was reported about the detention of journalist, and there came an instruction to release him.
Editorial office of "Azadlig TV" intends to apply to the Ministry of Interior to investigate the incident and punish the police, who detained the journalist, searched and insulted him.-06D--

An employee of the on-line TV Azadliqnews.tv Dayanat Mammadov was detained near the metro station Azadlig Avenue by Baku Metro Police today.
As the editor of Azadliqnews.tv Afghan Mukhtarly told Turan, the journalist filmed the crowd at the entrance to the subway.
According to Mukhtarly, the journalist reported on the phone that he had been detained. Then his phone was cut off. The TV channel is trying to find the whereabouts of the journalist.
In turn, the press service of the Interior Ministry said the information about the detention of the journalist would be investigated. -16B06-
