Reporters without Borders Condemns Violence against Azadlig Reporter
Baku / 09/12/19 / Turan: The international organization for the protection of journalists Reporters without Borders (RWB) condemned the violence of the police against the employee of the Azadlig newspaper, Tezehan Miralamli.
"Azadlig journalist Tezehan Miralamli was subjected to police violence during an opposition demonstration outside a court in Baku yesterday. Any physical harassment of journalists in the course of their work constitutes a violation of the freedom to inform," RWB reported on Twitter.
Miralamli was abused on September 11 near the building of the Yasamal district court, where the case of opposition leader Ruslan Amirli was examined. Police rudely pushed a group of journalists from the courthouse. The police forcefully pushed Miralamli, who protested against the restriction of his journalistic rights.
