Aliyev Expressed Condolences to Putin
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences to the Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with the victims of the fire in the psycho-neurological boarding school in the city of Novgorod.
"I extend condolences to you and to the families and friends of the victims," Aliyev said in the letter.
In the Novgorod region Monday, September 16 has been declared a day of mourning.
The Operational Service of the Emergency Ministry of Russia recorded a fire in the psycho-neurological boarding school Oksochi (Lukinsky Boarding School) located in the settlement Luky of the Malovishersky area the night of 13 September, at 02.52 a.m.
In the building there were about 60 people and 23 patients and staff nurses managed to esape. Rescuers found the bodies of 35 dead.
A criminal case has been filed under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Penal Code (causing death by negligence) and Part 3 of Article 293 of the Penal Code (negligence). -0 -

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
