Another Action of Bankrupt Bank Standard Depositors
Baku / 08.09. / Turan: The depositors of the bankrupt Bank Standard held another protest rally in front of the Central Bank (CBA) building on Tuesday, demanding the return of their deposits.
People are outraged that most of the bank's funds were issued in the form of unsecured loans to 153 large clients. These 153 clients received 80.3% of all funds in the bank. But none of the bank's management or major recipients of loans has been held accountable. Note that after the bankruptcy of the bank, only deposits of up to 10 thousand dollars were returned.
As in the previous promotions, taking place every Tuesday, no one from the CBA came out to meet them. The action ended without incident.
According to the protesters, so far 607 depositors have not been able to withdraw their money. The vast majority of their deposits range from 10,000 to 100,000 manats, and a small number - more than 100,000 manats.

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
