ANS Offered to Vacate Premises in Good Way
Baku / 14.06.17 / Turan: "The ANS television channel has not yet vacated premises in the Institute of Zoology, where it was based for many years. The prosecutor's office offered to find some place to take out the equipment and property of the television company.
Now we are busy searching for such a place," the director of the Institute of Zoology Elman Yusifov told Turan.
According to him, the total area occupied by ANS in the institute is 3 thousand square meters. The lease expired on October 1, 2016.
Several rooms with a total area of 1 thousand square meters have been sealed by the investigative authorities.
Earlier, the leadership of the Academy of Sciences asked the prosecutor's office to provide for the removal of ANS property.
Let's remind that earlier the National TV and Radio Council deprived the company of the license, accusing it of supporting the instigators of the coup attempt in Turkey in July 2016.
On July 18, the channel was discontinued, and the license was liquidated by a court decision.
Attempts by ANS to challenge this decision in court failed, and the television channel filed a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights.
Meanwhile, the management of the channel several times appealed to the head of state with a request for support. Receiving no answer, the ANS chiefs found nothing better than writing a letter to Heydar Aliyev, who died in 2003.
However, the idea of the authors of the letter provoked the opposite effect, for it sounded like distrust of the current President and outright mockery. -03B-
