"Doctrine": Combat losses of Azerbaijan increased in 2014
The loss of the defense and security sector of Azerbaijan from the beginning of 2014 to 6 August amounted to 68. Another 108 were wounded or injured, according to the Doctrine Military Research Journalism Center.
The head of the Center, Jasur Sumerinli reported that 24 soldiers were killed by enemy bullets, 3 stepped on mines, and the remaining 41 did not die in fighting conditions. Moreover, among them 14 people were killed in the period from July 31 to August 5.
With regard to non-combat losses, 10 soldiers were killed in car accidents, 1 – under unknown circumstances, 6 - as a result of hazing, 2 – in accidents, 8 - from disease, and 14 others committed suicide.
As for the wounded, 25 people were wounded at the front, including 10 people from July 31 to August 5, and 9 stepped on mines.
The remaining 74 were wounded or injured in non-combat conditions.
However, as a result of attacks by Armenians, two civilians were killed another 15 were injured.
Two Azerbaijani civilians were taken hostage by the Armenians.
Three Armenian civilians were captured by the Azerbaijani side and were subsequently returned. -06D-
