Faraj Kerimli is not allowed to meet with his lawyer
Despite the court decision on the need to transfer Faraj Kerimli, a youth activist of the party "Musavat", to the jail of the Penitentiary Service, he is still being held in the detention center of the Chief Directorate to Combat Organized Crime of the MIA, Turan was told by the activist’s lawyer, Nemat Kerimli. He regarded this as a violation of the law.
Kerimli was arrested on July 23, and on July 24 Narimanov court arrested him for three months for possession and sale of large amount of drugs. On the same charges on July 17 was arrested his brother, Siraj Kerimli.
Despite the lawyer's request, the investigator considering the case, does not allow a meeting with the client.
The lawyer believes that Kerimli brothers are tortured, and on July 17 an ambulance was called to Siraj. Siraj himself managed to tell about it in the court. However, investigator and prosecutor were near, and that is why S.Kerimli gave no details.
Now he is in jail, and the lawyer intends to visit him next week. At the same time, the lawyer appealed to the head of the Committee against Torture, Elchin Behbudov, with request to visit the brothers Kerimli.
Human rights activist told Turan about his intention to visit F.Kerimli on July 26.-03B-
