Interior Minister: violations of human rights decreased in Baku
In 2012, in Baku, there were registered 9,719 criminal offenses, of which 79.1% were disclosed, said at the daily briefing at the Ministry of Interior the Chief of Baku Metropolitan Police General Rafig Abbasov.
85.8% of the crimes were less serious and did present a high danger to the public. 14.2% of the crimes were serious or very serious.
The common crime detection rate increased 5.3% and the detection rate for serious and very serious crimes increased 7.9%.
Of the 2 468 crimes against personality there were revealed 96.4%, including 94.9% of the 69 targeted killings. All the 34 attempted murders were disclosed.
Exposed were 49 groups of 122 people that committed 69 robberies and assaults.
Interior Minister Ramil Usubov praised the work of the police of the capital, noting that in recent years "significantly reduced the number of violations of human rights and freedoms." -05D -

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
