Science in the reform package, fences that block access to the seashore, and the possible impact of wage increases on price increases are the topics of today's media.
The Azerbaijan newspaper writes that the President has given a special place to science in the reform package. The author recalls the Regulations on Scientific Titles and Degrees signed by the President of the country on June 11, according to which, from now on, titles will be granted only with a specialty. A person who is not an assistant professor cannot become a professor. The article provides a number of other rules reflected in the Regulations.
The website Moderator.az cites the opinion of the deputy Fazail Agamaly in connection with the blocking of citizens' access to the seashore, and the pollution of the Caspian Sea, which must be eliminated. The deputy considers it necessary to make changes to the legislation to put an end to the fencing of the Caspian coast.
The Milli Majlis should respond sharply to this. Vice-Speaker Valeh Aleskerov, in turn, said that all these issues are reflected in the legislation, and the implementation should be carried out by the relevant government agencies.
The website Yeni Sabah.az writes that prices will rise with the increase in salaries. Deputy Elmira Akhundova appealed to Finance Minister Samir Sharifov and Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev to take preventive measures to prevent possible price increases. The increase in wages, and therefore the welfare of citizens should not be the cause of rising prices, said the deputy.

The closure of Azerbaijan's land borders was discussed during the parliamentary session on November 25. While the government’s decision cites the coronavirus pandemic as the main reason—despite the World Health Organization declaring its end last year—Zahid Oruj, Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the Milli Majlis, pointed to other factors. He stated, "Opening the borders could result in an influx of hundreds of thousands of non-Azerbaijani refugees due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, in Iran, many are prepared to cross into Azerbaijan to safeguard their lives and assets amid military strikes. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."
