The fundamentals of the country's economic success, the expansion of Russian language teaching, and attitudes towards citizens at the Baku bus station are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan assesses the economic success of the country over the past 15 years. The author quotes from the speech of President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 30 that over the past 15 years there has been no other country in the world with such economic development as Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan"s GDP increased 3.3 times, its industrial potential increased 2.6 times, its foreign exchange reserves increased 24 times, more than 100 thousand enterprises were created, and more than 15 thousand km of roads were built.
The website Yenisabah.az writes that 100,000 manat will be spent on teaching the Russian language in Azerbaijan. Currently, there are 4.5 thousand secondary schools in the country, where 1.6 million pupils are studying. In 342 schools of the country more than 120 thousand children study in Russian. Only in 16 of these schools lessons are conducted only in Russian.
In the 2018-2019 school year, 165,780 children were enrolled in the first grade, of which only 9%, that is, 1,532 pupils went to the Russian sector. Expert Gubad Ibadoglu said he was not against learning in Russian, but against allocating 100 thousand manat to the Russian sector.
The website Sherg.az writes about the situation at the Baku bus station, where the entry has been blocked with a barrier. Traveling through the barrier costs 1 manat - it does not matter whether the owner of the car is there for 5 minutes or more.
MP Fazil Mustafa believes that for the most part, it"s not the laws that work in Azerbaijan, but the rules. Most structures do not recognize laws, and the money collected from parking do not go to the budget.
A similar situation prevails at the bus station. The MP believes that citizens are simply robbed. -0---

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
