Reforms carried out in the country, Azerbaijani-Russian relations, discussion of the liquidation of the Financial Market Supervision Chamber are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes that the country's population has rallied around the current president, Ilham Aliyev, without seeing an alternative to him. In the article, the author cites the speech of Ilham Aliyev at the ceremony of the 100th anniversary of BSU on November 26.
The site “Moderator.az” writes about the liquidation of the Financial Market Supervision Chamber, discussing the topic with MP Vahid Ahmedov. The creation of such a structure was initially an unfortunate idea, because the House did not have real powers. In such a situation, it was impossible to solve the problem of improving banks and reduce credit interest. It was after this that it was decided to liquidate the Chamber.
Touching upon the idea of dissolving the parliament, Ahmedov supported this idea, noting that the reforms being carried out in the country also require reforming the structures of power. He agreed with the opinion that the level of many deputies does not meet the requirements of the day.
The site “Redaktor.az” publishes material on Azerbaijani-Russian relations in which there is a clear warming. It is expected that next year Russia will supply new types of weapons to Azerbaijan. In this matter, between the West and Russia there is a struggle for the Azerbaijani arms market.
Against this background, the Baku authorities are giving signals of readiness to join the CSTO and the Customs Union. Moscow realizes that good relations with Azerbaijan will help it keep the South Caucasus region under control. The main problem for Moscow remains the position of Armenia, which by its actions breaks this game.
