Azerbaijan’s support for China's “One Belt - One Way” initiative, the situation in the country's banking system, and exaggerated reports on the preschool system are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about Baku’s support for China’s One Belt - One Way initiative. Azerbaijan, the author writes, was one of the first countries to support this initiative. The theme is revealed against the background of the Global Trade and International Logistics Forum in Shanghai, which is being held as part of the II China International Import Exhibition. The intensification of trade and economic relations in Eurasia has led to an increase in international freight traffic. Speaking at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the presence in Azerbaijan of 6 international airports and the largest cargo port in the Caspian. During the exhibition, a number of documents were signed between various structures and companies of China and Azerbaijan, including the opening of the Azerbaijan Trade House in the Chinese city of Weinan. Various companies signed documents on the export of Azerbaijani products to China.
The website Modern.az discusses the situation in the banking sector of the country with expert Natig Jafarli. Despite the negative outlook for banks at the beginning of this year, right up to the closure of some of them, so far no banks have stopped their activities. Nevertheless, 6 of the banks operating in the country suffered losses in the amount of 297 thousand - 90 million manats. About 20 commercial banks made profit in the amount of 22 thousand manats to 323 million manats. However, there is a possibility of a merger of banks. For, according to the latest data, at least 5 banks are currently operating at a loss.
The website Bakupost.az writes about serious problems in spending the funds allocated by the budget for preschool institutions, discussing this issue with expert Rovshan Agayev. According to him, in 2017, preschool institutions were allocated 41.6 million manats from the budget, and in 2018 these funds were reduced by 3 times, providing for the allocation of only 17.2 million manats. However, in 2019, expenditures on this sphere increased to 97.3 million manats. And for 2020, funds were reduced to 65 million manats. According to the expert, such a zigzag change in expenses for such a short time is unclear. The alleged version - there are some "unhealthy interests". -0-
