Economic development in the country and political stability, the attitude to the actions of the government, violation of property rights are the leading topics of today's press.
Official newspaper "Azerbaijan", defining the role and place of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus, calls the country a logistics center, uniting in the Eurasian space the East and West, North and South. Traditional and new communications, transport and energy corridors go just through Azerbaijan. By 2020 as a country-leader in the region Azerbaijan should become a competitive participant in the system of international economic relations - this is a national concept. The article also said that Azerbaijan is funding international projects at its own expense, is a reliable government, presenting the world its model of multiculturalism.
"Azadlig" writes about the continuing repression and countering this repression. Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli opposes political arrests. He argues that these arrests will not stop the activists, but rather spur them.
The article presents the statements by Thale Bagirzade in court in the case of Nardaran events. Despite the brutal torture suffered by all persons involved in Nardaran case, none of them got scared and turned off the chosen path. "Yeni Musavat" writes about the demolition of another building in Baku without permission of inhabitants, regarding it as another arbitrariness, because people do not agree to the proposed terms. The talk is about the in Yasamal district, St.Sharifzade, 86.
Demolition is conducted by the JSC “Inshaat construsialar.” According to a resident of the building Mehriban Veliyeva, in 2014 this company was deprived of the right to build, because it did not completed the construction in several areas of the capital. Until then, a 16-storey building in Baku, the construction of which was to be over even in 2003, remains uncompleted.
The company presented a certificate to the Ministry of Emergency cases that the building in the Sharifzade street was a in the state of emergency, but the document does not have a seal. Residents require payment for each square 2500 manat.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has not been invited to observe the parliamentary elections scheduled in Azerbaijan for September 1. Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Aykhan Hacizade, stated that invitations have been sent to seven international organizations: the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, GUAM, the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Organization of Turkic States.

A new group of migrants from the Garadagh district of Baku has arrived in the city of Shusha, the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons reported. Seventy-nine Shusha residents, comprising 21 families, have returned to their hometown.

Bahram Nuriyev, chairman of the Gabala branch of the public association "Young Gazis" (Young volunteers) and a participant in the Second Karabakh War, attempted suicide on Sunday, according to a statement from the association. Nuriyev reportedly shot himself with a firearm, protesting against what he claimed was untimely and inadequate medical treatment, which led to severe psychological distress.
