"Study in Europe" exhibition to be held in Baku
A "Study in Europe" fair will be held on October 2 at the Hilton Hotel in Baku within the framework of the EU-funded project “Study in Europe: Enhancing the attractiveness of European Higher Education”. Ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan H.E. Mr Peter Michalko, Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan H.E. Mr Zacharie Gross, representatives of the Embassies of EU Member States, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan will be present at the opening of the event.
The purpose of the fair is to inform young Azerbaijanis who are interested in pursuing their studies abroad about higher education opportunities in Europe and to give them the opportunity to meet directly with European higher education institutions and national agencies in charge of student mobility. More than 20 higher education institutions from 10 countries, national agencies and the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan will participate in the event. Visitors will have access to detailed information about European higher education systems, institutions, study and research programmes as well as scholarships.

During the "Study in Europe" fair, each country will present its higher education system and study and funding opportunities. In addition, the Erasmus+ programme will also be presented.
The organisers of the event invite students, young professionals, university representatives, high school students and their parents to join the "Study in Europe" fair, from 10:00 on Sunday 2nd October 2022 at the Hilton Hotel in Baku. President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.

An operation at Istanbul Airport has revealed an incident that could strain diplomatic relations. On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
