The Supreme Court will again consider the complaint of Mehman Huseynov
Baku / 05.03.18 / Turan: The case of the blogger under arrest, the admin page of the "Sancaq", Mehman Huseynov, will again be considered in the Supreme Court. The lawyer of the blogger, Fuad Agayev, noted that the cassation appeal of the defense against the decision of the Baku Court of Appeal has already been accepted for execution.
The complaint of the blogger was transferred to the execution of the judicial staff, presided over by Judge Imran Hajigibov. However, the date of consideration is not yet established, it will be announced in the coming days.
The cassation appeal says that the charges against him are groundless, in this regard, a request for an acquittal was expressed.
The reason for the arrest of the blogger was his allegation of torture in the police in January 2017. In response, the head of the Nasimi Police Department Musa Musayev filed a libel suit. The Surakhani District Court on May 3 sentenced Huseynov to two years in prison, finding him guilty of libel (Article 147 of the Criminal Code.) -0-
