The trial in the case of the ex-principal of school number 162 is coming to end
Baku / 11.10.19 / Turan: The Sabail district court on Friday completed an investigation into the case against the former principal of school number 162 of the city of Baku, Sevinj Abbasova, where the eighth-grader Elina Hajiyeva committed suicide.
Before the trial ended, the lawyers of the family of the deceased girl asked to put the ex-director under house arrest. According to lawyers, Abbasova put pressure on witnesses during the trial and, in particular, on the school psychologist by sending her messages on the phone.
This is also evidenced by interviews in the media of Abbasova, as well as statements by the former deputy director of the school Malahat Huseynova. According to them, Abbasova asked them to testify in court in her support.
The lawyers of the defendant and the injured party also requested the interrogation of experts regarding the cause of Elina"s death and re-examination.
However, the court did not grant the request.
The next trial will take place on October 16, when the prosecutor comes forward with a charge. -21B-
