Yashar Jafarli: Receiving Anonymous Threats
Yashar Jafarli, head of the Public Association of Reserve and Retired Officers, addressed the heads of the Interior Ministry and the National Security Ministry in connection with continued anonymous threats he has been receiving.
Jafarli stated that after he entered the National Council building, around the office of the Public Association of Reserve Officers, he has been constantly surveilled by suspicious people and vehicles. His apartment is also being watched. On August 29, Jafarli tried to take a photo of two people who were watching him, but they escaped before he could capture their images.
Anonymous threatening phone calls to Jafarli’s mobile phone continue. On August 28 at 13:29 and at 13:46 he received a call from the number 79640542589 (number of a Russian mobile operator), a threatening message stated: "The money you are given is for work. Do the work, or things will be bad for you."
Jafarli notes that these calls and messages appear from a background of false statements from Aflan Ibrahimov on alleged preparation of the National Council for riots. The whole purpose of this provocation is to face the opposition with false accusations of preparing a coup.
Jafarli called on law enforcement authorities to identify the caller from the number +79640542589 and to bring the responsible party to justice. -16D06-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
