Russian Defense Minister Explains Flights to Armenia with Supplies of Building Materials
Baku / 26.08.20 / Turan: As expected, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, who arrived in Baku, did not recognize the facts of arms supplies during the period of hostilities on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on July 12-16.
At a meeting with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov on August 25, Shoigu said that reports on the transportation of 400 tons of weapons by aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces to Armenia do not correspond to reality. These flights were carried out not for the supply of weapons and equipment to Armenia, but for the delivery of building materials for "large-scale construction work at the 102nd Russian military base", as well as for the rotation of military personnel serving at this base.
He further emphasized that “until today Russia has not taken any steps directed against Azerbaijan and no such steps will be taken in the future,” the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry quoted Shoigu as saying.
It is strange to hear such confessions from Shoigu, if we recall the free gift to Armenia in the form of Iskander missiles and the supply of weapons within the framework of two loans of $200 million and $100 million. Maybe Shoigu thinks that this caused delight in Azerbaijan?
The legend that cement and putty must be carried for weeks by transport planes over 2 thousand kilometers, since there is no such thing in Armenia, is designed for idiots.
This is especially funny against the background of the latest statements from Moscow about its readiness to transfer a new batch of SU-30 fighters to Armenia. -02D-
