US Embassy Announces Admission to GİPA Master's Program for Azerbaijani Journalists
Baku/14.03.22/Turan: The US Embassy announced the acceptance of applications for admission to the magistracy of the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management of the Institute of Public Relations of Georgia (GİPA), majoring in journalism and media communication. Training is conducted by teachers from the USA, Georgia and EU member states. The program is funded by the US State Department.
For participation in the program for a period of four semesters (September 2022 - June 2024), five or six Azerbaijani participants will be selected. Students will study in Tbilisi from September 2022 to December 2023 and then work on their thesis in Azerbaijan (January-June 2024).
Students will return to Georgia to defend their thesis in July 2024. While studying at GIPA, they will have access to computers, audio and video equipment, the Internet and a library.
As part of the program, they will produce multimedia stories for the student media web page and reports for Radio GIPA FM. Candidates must have a good knowledge of English, which will be tested during an oral interview.
The selection process includes an interview in English with a joint Azerbaijani-American admissions office in Baku.
The deadline for applications is May 1, 2022.

A member of the Milli Majlis, Zahid Oruj, found a "way out" for Azerbaijan to avoid sanctions from the US Congress.
