Completed Azerbaijani-Japanese Archaeological Expedition in Tovuz

The existing since 2009 international Azerbaijani-Japanese archaeological expedition completed field research in the Tovuz region of the country.

Turan was told by the charge of press relations at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS Parviz Gasymov.

The object of study in this season became the ancient settlements of the Neolithic Goytapa and Hajiallahmanly.

Samples found during excavations were sent to the laboratory studies in the University of Tokyo. In particular, they conducted radiocarbon, paleontological and botanical analyzes.

According to the authoritative scientific publications, Hajiallahmanly is a monument is the ancient site of the Neolithic in the South Caucasus.

The study results provide an idea of ​​the economic and cultural life of the ancient population in Goytapa and Hajiallahmanly.

The expedition led by the head of the department said the Institute of ANAS Farhad Guliyev and Professor, University of Tokyo Yoshiro Nishiyaki in Hajiallahmanly completed the study.

It is also planned to hold studies of other Neolithic monuments in the region.

Azerbaijani scientists are invited to the opening of the renewed archaeological exhibition at Tokyo University, which will be a special exhibition on Azerbaijan. -05D-
