Head of Insurance Supervision : " For the growth of payments does not require changes in the regulations "
BAKU/29.01.14/Turan : Last year, payments on the insurance market in Azerbaijan amounted to 30.27 % of premiums , which is the normal rate for the post-Soviet countries .
This level is achieved mainly due to large segments such as voluntary medical insurance ( 70.55 %), voluntary Hull car insurance ( 49.1% ) , compulsory insurance of servicemen ( 40.2% ) and the liability of owners of cars or insurance ( 38, 9%). There is even a position where the payments exceed premiums - insurance financial institutions against fraud employees collected 1.01 , paid 2.24 million manat .
However, there were a lot of "profitable " major types of insurance. First of all , it's aviation insurance - here disbursements totaled 0.09 % of premiums ( 1.36 thousand to 11.48 million manat) . Insurance maritime ratio - 0.9%, for life insurance - 0.15% and for insurance against accidents at work - 5,87 %.
As head of State Insurance Supervision Service Namik Khalilov told Turan, commenting on the situation , it is not the result of monopoly or weak control segment , there is no point in the legislative and regulatory developments . "If in 2012 the ratio of payments to premiums was 27.5% in the past year - 30.3% , and this result was mainly achieved through socially-oriented species. So , since last year , all the victims in traffic accidents and deaths , even without insurance receive 1 thousand manats from the Bureau of Compulsory Insurance. I think that will be a steady increase in payments , and this year their ratio to premiums can reach 33-35 %," he said. - 17D-

This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
