18.6 thousand apartments built in 2013

Baku/29.01.14/Turan : In 2013, Azerbaijan was commissioned houses and apartments with a total area of ??2 138.8 thousand square meters (preliminary data) , the State Statistics Committee told Turan . This is 0.4% less than the previous year.

Last year there were built 18,605 apartments, which is 6.6 % (1300 units) is less than in 2012 . The total area of commissioned apartments increased by 7.2 m2 compared with the previous year and reached 114.9 m2.

For housing in 2013 was invested 1 323.1 million manat. Compared with the previous year investments in this sector decreased by 4.1 %.

Last year, for the first time in the last 20 years the state's participation in housing construction peaked . There was commissioned 551.2 thousand m2 of housing , which is 50 % more than in 2012 . State builds through the Petroleum Fund apartment buildings and individual houses for the displaced.

In the State Statistics Committee they noted that the revised data on housing construction in the country will be ready by the end of the first quarter after receiving performance of small businesses.

Leading position in housing occupied by the city of Baku. Only in 2012 there were commissioned apartments with a total area of ??530.2 thousand m2 ( 83.1 %).

Accounting of the people in need to improve housing conditions in Azerbaijan is not conducted. Since 2003, the country was commissioned 173.5 thousand apartments with a total area of ??over 17 million m2.

According to the latest data ( 2012 ) each resident of the country accounted for a total and living space of respectively 18.6 and 13.1 m2. According to this indicator, Azerbaijan is behind Europe .

According to estimates of the State Statistics, in the fourth quarter of 2013 the price of apartments in the primary market increased compared with the same period in 2012 by 3.8%.-08B-
