Number of industrial enterprises grew by foreign capital
The number of enterprises operating in the industrial sector in Azerbaijan reduced. Place small and medium-sized enterprises occupy the larger business entities. Since 2009, the total number of industrial enterprises in the country decreased by 9.6%.
According to the State Statistics Committee report on the activities of industrial enterprises in 2013, at the beginning of this year the country had 2,527 enterprises engaged in production of industrial products. Over the past 2 years, the number of industrial enterprises grew by only 19 units. At the same time in 2009 suspended the activity of at least 267 plants and factories.
Despite the pretentious statement by the government on the development of entrepreneurship in the industry, the evidence suggests the opposite: if at the end of 2009 the number of industrial enterprises with private capital was 1,976, in 2013 this figure dropped to 1,963. Over the years, improved the performance of the company with a 100% foreign capital, the number of which increased from 114 to 151.
In the past year, closed 17 wood-processing enterprises (at the beginning of 2014, there were 51 operating companies), three chemical plants (70), 4 rubber and plastic plants (89), 11 enterprises producing construction materials (209), 4 metallurgical plants (20) and 7 enterprises of fabricated metal products (86).
While in 2012, 693 enterprises were classified as medium and large, in 2013, their number increased by 30. --08B--
