Share of alternative power in Azerbaijan constitutes about 1%
During 6 months, 2016 power generation in Azerbaijan totaled 10,954,600,000 KWh, down 6.3% against the same period last year.
According to the State Statistical Committee, during this period generation of tank power totaled 10,471,100,000 KWh (decline by 6.1%).
During 6 months thermal power stations generated 9,370,100,000 KWh of tank power (decline by 8.4%), while hydraulic power stations – 1,065,800,000 KWh (growth by 16.5%).
During this period generation of tank power by the alternative sources totaled 35.8 million KWh, of which 9.2 million KWh was wind power (growth by 2.6 times) and 26.6 million KWh (growth by 16.6 times) was solar power.
During quarter 1, 2016 share of alternative power in total power generation in Azerbaijan constituted 0.342%. The data of about five mini hydraulic power stations with the capacity between 5 and 20 MWt has not been taken into consideration.—0—
