Iqbal Aghazadeh: How can teachers survive with 168 manat?
In the course of today's discussion of the draft budget for 2015 in the parliament, the MP Iqbal Aghazadeh criticized the neglect of teachers. In particular, he noted that the school teachers for 24 hours of work per month receive 168 manats, and the higher wage is not allowed by law. "How can a teacher live with 168 manat a month?" said Aghazadeh. Speaking about the university professors, he said that teachers that are not staff of the university receive AZN 2 per hour.
Will an professional teacher go to the audience for such a payment? What can be a quality of teaching in these universities ? said Aghazadeh,
Further, he is not happy also with the order of giving job in civil service, where persons over 30 years of age are not allowed to test exams. "I cannot understand why specialists who are 45 years old cannot be good ? Why does not the state like their education? It reminds ads in stores, hiring only young girls. We must put an end to such discrimination," demanded Aghazadeh.
He also criticized not increasing finance for political parties despite the growth of financing in other structures.
Aghazadeh also supported simplification of mortgage lending. Now the mortgage is issued only to young people, with a salary of not less than 700 manats per month.
The MP Azay Guliyev spoke of insufficient funding of NGOs, and appealed to the Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov to reconsider the amount of aid for NGOs in the draft budget 2015.
"Our NGO are by 35% financed from abroad. This increases their dependence on foreign funds, and affects the national security of Azerbaijan. Our NGOs receive from abroad annually $23 million. Therefore, I propose to increase the public funding local NGOs.
The six million manat intended in the project for this purposes are not sufficient, because two million of this amount is spent on financing the promotion of the State Council of NGOs, and only four million manat remains for the NGOs. This sum should be increased up to 10 million," said Guliyev. Chairman of the Milli Majlis Oktay Asadov supported him. -02D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
