Man Accused on Nardaran Case-3 Placed in Medical Institution
Baku / 20.08.17 / Turan: Ali Huseynov, accused of the so-called Nardaran case was placed in a medical institution of the Penitentiary Service. The leadership of the Baku Pretrial Detention Center informed his lawyers about this.
In a letter sent to the lawyer Zibeida Sadigova it was noted that during the detention in the Detention Center Huseynov was registered by the medical and sanitary unit with the diagnosis of "generalized psoriasis".
"Through periodic medical examinations, instrumental and laboratory examinations, he was monitored for his health, and his outpatient treatment was provided. He twice went to the treatment facility of the Penitentiary Service with the indicated diagnosis and received specialized medical care there," the document says.
On August 12, he was again sent for treatment to the indicated institution and is currently staying there.
* On November 26, 2015, police conducted a special operation in Nardaran, during which six people were killed, including two law enforcement officers. According to the official version of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the casualties were the result of armed resistance of the "religious radicals".
Over 70 people were brought to criminal responsibility for these events. Some of them were convicted on charges of illegal possession of weapons for up to 2.5 years imprisonment. More than 40 people faced serious charges, including attempts at violent change of the constitutional order, terrorism, murders, inciting religious hatred, etc. They were brought to trial in three groups, which received the names Nardaran Case-1, Nardaran Case-2 and Nardaran Case-3 in the media. For 18 people, including the leader of the movement Muslim Unity Taleh Baghirzadeh, the trial has already been completed. Baghirzadeh was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His assistant Abbas Huseynov received the same term. The rest were sentenced to terms of 10 to 19 years of imprisonment.
Litigation over 2 more groups of 12 people continues. 62-year-old Ali Huseynov is on Nardaran Case-3. All the defendants reject the incriminated actions and state the victim policemen were shot by their colleagues during the operation.-06D--
