Mother of Abdul Abilov in desperate condition
Health problems of political prisoner Abdul Abilov and hard social situation of his family continues, said in an interview with Turan his mother Nurjahan Abilova. The blogger Abdul Abilov was arrested by police on 22 November, 2013 near his home. In his pocket he "found" a bag with 2,679 grams of heroin, and in the apartment 4,677 grams of heroin.
On May 27, 2014 Baku court sentenced Abilov to 5.5 years in prison under Article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (illegal possession or sale of drugs on a large scale.)
At trial, Abilov said that he was arrested for political reasons, for his active in facebook. In particular, critical publications on the page titled: “No sycophants”, where he criticized corruption and arbitrariness of the authorities. Human rights activists have recognized Abilov a political prisoners.
The other day Nurjahan Abilova visited her son in prison, and was convinced that his son was seriously ill. "But he called me on Thursday, and explained his not feeling well by a nervous stress. I am very worried about him," said mother.
She also said that the family's financial situation is very difficult. "I have long been sick, and I hardly walk. I cannot find a job. I do not get a state aid, and I live at the expense of family," said Nurjahan Abilova.
"I ask the president to release my son, he was detained illegally. The President himself said in his speech that everyone has the right to express their opinion, and my son expressed his opinion. Is it possible for the plant," she said.
"Twice I went to the reception by Mehriban khanum, but there is no result yet. I wanted to be received by the President Ilham Aliyev, but I was not allowed to go there.
I filed a petition for pardon, and there are not any other instances where I could appeal. I do not know whom to complain," said Abilov. -03В-
