Newspaper Azadlig to Appeal against Arrest of Its Bank Account to Court
The lawyers of Azadlig appealed to the Baku Administrative Economic Court Number 1 with a complaint against the decision of the Yasamal court on the arrest of the newspaper's account in the Sabail branch of the International Bank of Azerbaijan. The lawyers are asking the court to cancel the decision to arrest the newspaper account, reports the Media Rights Institute.
Recall that Yasamal Court decided to arrest the bank account of Azadlig on October 24. This decision is due to the judicial decision made at the suit of the head of the shopping center Bina Kabira Mammadova against the newspaper. According to this decision, the newspaper and its employee Ramin Deko must pay Kabira Mammadova compensation of 32 thousand manats. The Yasamal court decision was sent for execution on October 14.
The newspaper Azadlig in court is defended by the lawyers from Media Rights Institute. The lawyers believe illegal the seizure of the bank account of the newspaper to pay the compensation. -03D04-
