Official structures deny an application of Baku for the Olympic Games 2024
Azerbaijani official structures do not confirm the information about Baku's bid to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2024. The first vice-president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chingiz Huseynzade has denied the information about the appeal to the IOC with a similar offer. The same was stated by head of the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Samaya Mammadova. Earlier Azerbaijan applied for the Summer Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016, but was not included the short-list of candidates.
However, according to observers, the holding the first European Games in 2015 increases the chances of Azerbaijan in the fight for the Summer Olympic Games. -06D-
