Azerbaijan against the backdrop of the Strategic Roadmap of economic reforms, the reasons for the rise in price of watermelons, and the detention of the politician Gezal Bayramli are the leading topics of today's press.

The newspaper Azerbaijan estimates the country's economic success against the backdrop of the Strategic Roadmap prepared in 2016. The author recalls the existence of 12 such documents on 11 sectors of the economy, on their short-term and long-term periods. The article contains various economic calculations, including those related to GDP.

The website Strateq.az discusses why melons are becoming more expensive. This, in particular, is about the cost of watermelons. Now it is the second half of July, but the cost of watermelons does not decrease below 50-60 gapik a kilo, whereas last year at this time they cost 20-25 gapik per 1 kg.

In social networks, the high cost of melons is one of the topics discussed, the author writes. In view of the extremely hot weather, water becomes scarce and many melons simply are not watered, and watermelons are dying, hence the rise in prices for them. In addition, the territory allocated for melons has decreased by 10.6%.

The Azadliq.info website writes about the PFPA deputy head Gezal Bayramli, who was convicted and not allowed to issue power of attorney to her family members.

Bayramli intends to file an official complaint. Her sister Shirin says that a power of attorney is necessary to obtain compensation from the European Court for violating Bayramli's rights.

The author emphasizes that these usual legal procedures are intentionally delayed by the authorities for months.
