The College of Europe Natolin to Hold Training for Journalists
Baku/23.11.18/Turan: The College of Europe Natolin will soon be recruiting for its journalism training programme. The trainings, consisting of e-learning classes (in English, Russian, and Arabic) and in-person workshops (in English only), will train journalists from Azerbaijan and beyond on topics such as:
- disinformation
- open data
- multimedia journalism
- conflict-sensitive reporting
- financial sustainability.
The trainings will offer an opportunity both to expand your knowledge and skills while also networking with journalists, scholars, think-tank representatives and other stakeholders of media market.
The project will invite participants from across the EU as well the European Neighbourhood Policy countries (the Eastern Partnership, the Middle East, and northern Africa).
On 28 November, the College of Europe Natolin will conduct a promotional and recruitment event in Baku, where they will introduce the journalism training programme (details below) and meet with people who might be interested in taking part therein. The event will take place on 28 November at 17.00 in Landmark (90A Nizami Street), Lahij Room (floor -1).

An operation at Istanbul Airport has revealed an incident that could strain diplomatic relations. Kahraman Shamil oglu Mammadov, alleged to be an Azerbaijani military attaché, was caught with 70 kilograms of gold. According to Turkish media, Despite Mammadov's claims that he is a diplomat, it is believed that the incident is related to gold smuggling.

On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy.
