The influential US Senator Ben Cardin met with the well-known lawyer Amal Clooney and discussed the fate of the journalist Khadija Ismayilova convicted in Azerbaijan. The Senator wrote this on his Facebook page.
As is known, Amal Clooney and Nani Jansen represent Ismayilova’s interests at the European Court of Human Rights, which will soon hold a hearing on the case. Recall that Ismayilova was sentenced to 7 years in prison on trumped-up charges. -16D-
