2ND session of SGC Coordination Council to take place end of February
The 2nd session of the Coordination Council on the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) will take place in Baku on February 29, 2016.
Azerbaijan Ministry of Energy press office reported that invitations for participation at the 2nd session have been sent to the Energy Ministers of Turkey, Georgia, Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Italy, UK, Serbia, special representative of US for Energy Affairs and heads of TANAP and TAP consortia.
Among those invited will be also Marosh Shefchovich, Vice President of the European Commission on the Energy Union, and heads of the international financial institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Financial Corporation (IFC) and European Investment Bank (EIB).
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said earlier that the course of the project implementation and the done works will be discussed at the session.
The 2st session of the Coordination Council on SGC took place in Baku in February 2015.
* SGC project envisages creation of the pipeline infrastructure to transport Azerbaijani gas extracted from the Shah Deniz Phase 2 to Europe via Turkey. Three pipelines will be built as a part of this project, including SGC on the territory of Azerbaijan and expansion of the pipeline in Georgia, TANAP construction in Turkey and TAP gas pipeline construction in Europe.—0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
