Intigam Aliyev could be charged with possession of bladed weapons
Yesterday the investigator investigating the case of the human rights defender Intigam Aliyev appointed an expertise to establish whether the ornamental daggers seized in his apartment are cold weapons.
Turan was told by the lawyer Anar Gasymly. Commenting on the report of the examination, Intigam Aliyev said with sarcasm that "the prosecutor's office creates a new literary genre - the investigative protocols."
The lawyer believes frivolous expertise on the subjects which are decorative and are available in all the gift shops.
In addition, the administration of the Kurdakhani jail issued a reprimand to Aliyev for he passed through a lawyer records concerning the protection of the rights of citizens to the European Court of Human Rights.
Intigam Aliyev was arrested Aug. 8 on charges of illegal business activities, abuse of office and tax evasion. Amnesty International declared him a prisoner of conscience. -06B-
