Iran supports the project "Nabucco"
Iran is ready to supply gas to Europe through the pipeline "Nabucco", the Iranian Deputy Oil Minister, Ali Majedi, told the ranian media. While Europe intends to diversify its energy supplies, Iran with its largest gas reserves in the world can provide gas to Europe through the "Nabucco", he said. Recently two delegations from Europe visited Iran to discuss possible routes of gas supplies. According to him, these routes can pass through Turkey, Iraq, Syria, the Caucasus, and the Black Sea. At the same time, the Turkish route seems preferable to others. "Nabucco" will be useless without Iranian gas, and a gas from "Shah Deniz" in the Caspian Sea will not be enough, he said. "Nabucco" project was frozen in 2013 for an indefinite period. The main reason was stated insufficiency of gas. With the launch of the pipeline TANAP (Trans-) and TAP (Trans) the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe becomes a reality. Removal of Western sanctions against Iran, will give Tehran the chance to become a natural and an active participant in this project.-16D-
