
Mammad Ibrahim and two other PFPA members detained
Baku/26.07.20/Turan: On Sunday, a member of the Presidium of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFPA) Mamed Ibrahim and two more activists of this opposition organization - Elnur Yusubov and Sarvan Jumaev were detained.
Mammad Ibrahim was detained on July 26 at about noon when he was going to deliver a package with food to his arrested son Mehdti Ibrahimov, said his other son Turan Ibrahim.
Mehdi Ibrahim, was detained on July 15 in the morning after the rally in support of the army. A week later, he was charged under Article 139.1-1 (spread of viral infection) Criminal Code. However, Mamed Ibrahim stated that the charges were falsified, since the son was not sick and there is no evidence of his infection, supported by medical documents.
The PFPA also reported on the arrest on July 26 of an activist of the Sabunchi regional organization (PFPA) Elnur Yusubov and a member of the Surakhani regional organization of the PFPA Sarvan Jumaev.
In total, according to the party, after the rally on July 15, about 40 PFPA activists were detained.
Of these, 14 were charged with criminal charges, 12 were administratively arrested for 30 days.
The rest either were released, or are still in police stations and their status has not been determined. — 06D-
