Putin and Aliyev are happy with the development of bilateral relations
Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, are happy with the development of bilateral relations, in particular, a record pace of goods turnover and diversification of trade relations between the two countries, according to ITAR-TASS.
"Indeed, the relations between our countries are developing successfully, despite the difficult overall situation in the world economy, we have growth in turnover for last year was 47 percent, one of the records for us," Putin said at a meeting with Aliyev in a narrow format.
"Russia remains one of the leaders in the trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan. It ranks second, the trade turnover is growing, and is especially nice - the structure of trade is very decent on the part of Azerbaijan and Russian side," said the head of the Russian state.
Azerbaijani President expressed confidence that Putin's visit will give a new impetus to relations between the two countries.
"Our relations are developing very dynamically, positively and successfully. Our relations cover many areas and today will be an opportunity to discuss bilateral agenda and regional issues," said Aliyev.
Putin noted initiatives aimed at developing the humanitarian sphere. "I know that there are your personal initiatives. We will discuss them today. I am sure that our meeting today will help in the development of relations.
