Strange sudden death Sevinj Babayeva in Istanbul
The Medicana Hospital in Istanbul confirmed the news spread since last night about the death of the citizen of Azerbaijan Sevinj Babayeva - one of the defendants in the scandalous video exposed to the Internet by the former rector of Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev.
In the talk with Turan the hospital officials refused to disclose the cause of Babayeva’s death, citing demand from her family. The clinic recommended to contact the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, but is no one answered the phone calls.
In the video, which was announced on September 25, Elshad Abdullayev was discussing with Sevinj Babayeva, and then with the deputy Gular Akhmedova a bribe for electing him as a member of parliament in the 2005 election
Three days after the appearance of the video, authorities opened a criminal case on "fraud". However, neither Babayeva nor Akhmedova was detained. Moreover, it was reported that Babayeva fled to Turkey.
Two weeks ago, a new video appeared, in which Babayeva was assuring Abdullayev that the money of $ 1 million was transferred to the head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and the election of Abdullayev an MP at by-election in 2006 had been solved.
After this video Gular Akhmedova tried to flee, but was detained on the Georgian border. Three days ago Babayeva was wanted by Interpol.
In this case, there are a lot of strange things. In particular, why was Babayeva not under house arrest? If the authorities gave her the opportunity to leave, why did not they let Akhmedova do the same?
If the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan really looked for Babayeva via Interpol, how could she live peacefully in Istanbul with the close cooperation of law enforcement agencies of the two countries?
Finally, what health problems could be at a still fairly young (40 years old) female?
It is noteworthy that for the past week opposition papers did not exclude that Babayeva could be liquidated as an important and very dangerous witness against the government. -06C-

Armenia is not against the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, but does not consider it appropriate to discuss this issue now. "In the context of peace, we consider it possible to make a decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When peace is an established fact, the existence of such a format may raise questions," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today. "The whole question is about the timing, we need to understand how effectively and correctly to turn such topics into a subject of discussion right now," the Armenian Prime Minister added.

On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. All electoral campaigning is prohibited 24 hours before the voting. The early elections were initiated by the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. This decision was motivated by the overlap of the scheduled elections in November with the global UN forum - the COP20 climate conference taking place in Baku.
