The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the arrest of Mehman Aliyev
Paris/25.08.17/Turan: In connection with the arrest of the director of the agency Turan, the French Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it said:
"We are concerned by Turan news agency director Mehman Aliyev's arrest in Baku on 24 August. France calls on the Azerbaijani authorities to respect its international commitments and in particular to guarantee the respect of press freedom and the independence of the judiciary, and to carefully respect rights and the presumption of innocence," the statement said. -02D-
