The repression does not break the resistance of the society, the National Council
The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) organized a public hearing on the issue of political prisoners and ways to resolve it. Opening the meeting the head of Jamil Hasanli NCDF said that the main purpose of the event is the actualization of the problem of political prisoners.
"The problem of political prisoners in Azerbaijan are related directly to Ilham Aliyev. These people have been arrested on the direct instructions of President Ilham Aliyev," said Hasanli.
Member of the Coordinating Center of the NCDF, Gurban Mammadov said that investigators are bribe- takers, take the advantage of the situation, and become rich. "Under such situation people have to give bribes to feed the existing regime," said Mamedov.
The PFPA Deputy Chairman, Fuad Gahramanli, noted that the increase of the number of political prisoners testifies the measure of the resistance of society. "So do not turn it into a great tragedy. The solution to the problem is smashing machine of repression. Until this authoritarian regime exists, the problem of political prisoners will not disappear," he said.
The leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli spoke about the fire today at Azadlig Avenue, calling it a striking attitude of the authorities to the human life. At the suggestion of Kerimli THE event participants honored the victims by a minute of silence. Kerimli also said that despite the large-scale repression, the authorities have not been able to silence the public.
He noted that the authorities have recently refused to authorize opposition rallies at time appointed by the NCDF. "So they are afraid of rallies," said Kerimli. --03B--
