Farida Movlamli intends to seek punishment for police officer
Baku/27.06.23/Turan: Journalist Fatima Movlamli through her lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova has applied to the Interior Ministry and Sabail District Prosecutor's Office demanding punishment for the policeman who maву a hit-and-run with a car on her during the June 16 protest in front of the Milli Majlis.
She said she intended to seek criminal prosecution of the police officer for obstructing her professional activities and causing damage to her health.
According to the journalist, as a result of the collision she received a bruise of the foot of her left foot and this is confirmed by the results of X-ray examination and magnetic resonance imaging.
The girl was temporarily disabled as a result of the incident.
"Although the severe pain is gone, there is still swelling on the leg. Doctors have recommended refraining from mobility for a fortnight," Movlamli said.
However, the Interior Ministry denied deliberately hitting the journalist.
Allegations that "Toplum TV employee Fatima Mowlamly was run over during an illegal action on June 16 are baseless and untrue," the Interior Ministry earlier said.
"All allegations in this regard have been investigated and surveillance cameras in the area of the incident have been viewed. The investigation found that Mowlamli suddenly got in the way of a moving car through negligence. Medical X-ray examination did not reveal any complications in the form of fractures or sprains on her leg. We regret that such an unpleasant incident occurred," the IM press office commented. -06B-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
