Five People Continue Hunger Strike at Musavat Headquarters
Baku / 1/19/19 / Turan: At the headquarters of the Musavat party, hunger strikes continue with the demand "Freedom for Mehman Huseynov and all other political prisoners!"
A participant of the action, investigative journalist Khadija Ismayilova, told Turan four people continue the hunger strike: activist Aygul Jafarova, Zafar Ahmedov (father of political prisoner Fuad Ahmedli), Rafig Bakhyshov (father of political prisoner Orhan Bakhyshly) and a joined activist Fizuli Huseynov, who replaced Rovshan Niftalyzadeh.
Fizuli Huseynov is known for holding single pickets demanding the release of political prisoners. In the summer of this year, he was arrested for this administratively. In protest, he spent 8 days on a hunger strike in the detention center.
Today, the hunger strike participants were examined by the doctors of the polyclinic number 25. According to Ismayilova, there are no complications in the state of health of the rally participants who joined it since January 15. However, there are drops in blood pressure.
Recall that the rally is held in solidarity with blogger Mehman Huseynov, who declared a hunger strike on December 26 in protest against bringing him a new charge of beating a prison employee. -06D--

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
