Human rights activist accuses, SOCAR denies
Baku/08.05.17/Turan: Employers of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) force employees to write applications with a request to lower their posts in order to reduce salaries, Turan was told by Mirvari Gahramanly, chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Oil Workers' Rights. According to her, these measures are motivated by the implementation of various projects and changes in the duties of employees.
"But, there is a general rule that when implementing any projects or programs, salaries for employees cannot be lowered by existing salaries. In this case, salaries are reduced significantly - by 200 manat," noted Gahramanli. According to her, the oil industry workers complained to President Ilham Aliyev and the country's first president, Mehriban Aliyeva.
The appeals were sent by NGDU "Neft Dashlari" employees, and employees of other departments are going to complain to the presidential administration, Gahramanly said. In its turn, SOCAR in its statement notes that the innovations are connected with the company's transition to work "according to international standards." In this regard, there is a need to bring the staffing table "in line with the requirements of the day. Thus, the official standards of the staff of the PA "Azneft" are developed.
In connection with the new standards, the procedure for remuneration of labor was revised and official salaries were calculated. The report also says that workers who are reduced by salary, will be compensated. -065D06-
