Human rights activists from the "Defense Line" held a meeting with European diplomats
Baku/16.01.23/Turan: Co-chairs of the human rights organization "Defense Line" Rufat Safarov and Zaur Akper held a meeting with representatives of embassies of more than 10 European countries on Monday at the EU office.
The parties discussed the situation with human rights in Azerbaijan, the illegal arrests of activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev and politician Tofig Yagublu, the non-admission to Georgia of the deputy chairman of the Popular Front Party Seymour Hazi, the "Defense Line" reported.
The issue of eviction of three NGOs from rented offices was also raised - the Institute for Public Policy, "Defense Line" and the Center for Legal Studies.
“We asked diplomats to draw the attention of their governments to the deterioration of human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan.
According to diplomats, they are also concerned about the arrests of Hajiyev and Yagublu, and are seriously dealing with these issues,” Safarov said. ---03В06---
